Due to the high fuel prices and inflation in several areas of the world, we have seen a great shift of vehicles from gas-operated ones to Electric Vehicles (EVs).
The same is for two-wheeler vehicles as well. In India, most vehicles on the road are two-wheeler (bikes, scooters, cycles).
That’s why we are witnessing many great changes and improvements in the upcoming electric motorbikes and scooters. Speaking of scooters, there is also an upcoming electric scooter made by Naon motors (a startup company in Germany) and is named Zero One, meaning their first electric scooter.
The design of this brand-new prototype scooter is quite compact and smart, not heavy or bulky. Refined edges and futuristic headlights and backlights make this scooter look even more sharp and smart.
The estimated price of the scooter would be £4,900. In INR, it would be approximately 4 lakh. But considering the specs and quality of this scooter, this price is worth it.
The scooter will be released with two variants. The design and performance of this scooter is the main factor that separates it from ordinary ones, making it a premium quality scooter, among others.
The material used in its body would be aluminum, as it is more durable and affordable. There would be a single shock on the back. The braking system installed in it is disc brakes powered by ABS.
The scooter’s power supply package is protected by a thick layer of the metal casing, designed to greatly improve the balance by providing a low center of gravity. This also helps in improving stability, leading to better handling.
This scooter’s battery life is also great, providing almost 70 km on a full charge. The battery pack installed in the Zero One scooter is a 2.5 kWh battery.
It is a Li-ion battery (Lithium-Ion battery) and is also removable. In addition, an extension is made for one more battery package, which will increase the scooter’s mileage to 149 km on a single charge.
The scooter is yet to be launched in India. However, it is expected to be released in two variants, one with greater output and torque than the other. The regular variant, named the L1e variant, will be able to keep up with a maximum output of 2.9 kW, meaning that the scooter could provide a maximum speed of 45km/h.
However, the other variant, named the L3e variant, will contain a bigger motor than the base variant. So, this variant could run at a maximum speed of 98km/h.
The maximum output provided by this variant would be 9.7 kW and a maximum torque of 188 Nm. The scooter will be launched at the start of next year; we might see its performance firsthand.
