Nepal suffered a great loss due to the Pandemic in 2019, as there was a full countrywide lockdown that stopped imports of two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles.
Nepal has no automobile industry or manufacturing plant, so the consumer’s needs are met solely by importing the vehicle from other countries. Japan is the only country providing and fulfilling most import demands. Therefore, the majority of locally used vehicles in Nepal are from Japanese countries.
The public transportation sector in Nepal is very poor, as only 5% of vehicles are used for public transport. The citizens privately own the remaining 95% of the vehicles. Therefore, public transport is very low throughout the country.
That’s why the civilians keep their own owned vehicles, the two-wheeler being the most common and the one with the most sales. As urbanization took place in the country, motorization was also sided by side feeding with it. Therefore, the country’s annual sales have increased by 15% for the previous 10 years.
Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan are the same status. These states also lost due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and a huge number of sales dropped.
In these states, approximately 50% of the sales were reduced, and by the beginning of 2020, there were almost zero sales throughout the states, according to the Yamaha sales report.
However, the automobile sectors of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are growing at a good rate after these countries started to recover from the losses during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In India, a new system is implemented in touring areas like Ladakh, where you can rent a two-wheeler vehicle at a low price to enjoy the area on your ride. This system is found to be very helpful for the tourists as well as the vendors who offer their vehicles.
It is also a great solution to the very low public transport in the whole country, as without this system touring would have been a great problem.
There is a huge growth in the used car industry in Saudia Arabia compared to the new cars, as purchasing a brand-new vehicle is very costly. That’s why locals prefer to keep used vehicles in good condition over new ones.
The huge increase in women drivers has also boosted the automobile sector in Saudia Arabia. Compared to other states, there was a very low loss. However, since the beginning of 2020, the Automotive Sector has been growing throughout the state.
The Indonesia sector is still yet to be developed as the losses it suffered in 2019 are yet to be recovered. That is why there have been quite low annual sales compared to the years before the Pandemic.
However, in recent months, there has been a huge boost in sales due to foreign investment from India and booming business in the country.
